The Allied Masonic Degrees are a collection of degrees and orders that, by tradition, require Royal Arch membership as a prerequisite. They represent some of Freemasonry’s most philosophically rich and historically significant working, drawing on Hermetic, Rosicrucian, and classical traditions that have long informed the Craft.
The Allied Masonic Degrees in the United States are governed by the Grand Council of the Allied Masonic Degrees of the United States of America. The Grand Council oversees constituent Councils across the country, promotes Masonic education and scholarship, and works to preserve the unique degrees and traditions of the AMD. For more information about the Grand Council and the Allied Masonic Degrees, visit the official website at AMD Grand Council website.
Gnothi Seauton Council #501 was chartered under the Grand Council of Allied Masonic Degrees of the United States of America and meets in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. Our name — drawn from the Greek inscription at the Temple of Apollo at Delphi — reflects our commitment to the inner work that lies at the heart of genuine Masonic practice.
Our Council has had the honor of presenting the Grand Architect degree, and members of Gnothi Seauton Council #501 have proudly served on the Pennsylvania Degree Team, presenting the Third Degree of the Scarlet Cord.
